“These Three Days were Perfect.” The 2022 Brazilian Academy Awards.

The Academy made history in March 2022 when it held its first-ever Academy Awards ceremony in Brazil. Read the first-hand experiences of participants below.

Leticia Barbosa

"My name is Leticia Barbosa. I'm an entrepreneur and I'm 18 years old. I recently participated in the Brazil Academy Awards and won first place in the Young Entrepreneur Category. I'm very grateful, because [with the prize money] I can invest in my business. I can purchase a labeling machine at thrift store events. I can also use the prize money to buy a mirror because my store doesn't have one. I can buy a credit card machine for my customers to pay in installments. Lastly, I can buy a better backdrop to improve my Instagram presence. Thanks to the opportunities the Awards provided, my sales are increasing. I am very thankful to the Academy!

Jack Ventura

“I'm Jack Ventura, radio and tv host of the Trem Mineiro show. I participated in the Brazil Academy Award in the Female Entrepreneur Category and came in third place. Although it was very challenging to participate in the awards, it was well worth it. The Academy helped us learn to improve our management and marketing. We also learned to develop new business strategies. We already held a team meeting to implement what we learned from the Awards to take our business to the next level. I want to thank the judges for their tips and guidelines. The things I learned were indescribable. I thank the Brazil Academy and judges. We will use our prize money to buy live radio and tv equipment.”

Douglas Cassimiro

I want to thank the Brazil Academy for the Academy Awards. I am grateful for everything that was taught [at the conference]. I am grateful for the time that each of you – judges and competitors – dedicated to the presentations. I was able to learn so much and absorb a lot of new information. I will work with my wife and son to apply what I learned at the conference. I know that all this will help me grow and develop my skills as a manager. The Awards helped me achieve an even greater vision for our business. I really appreciate the Academy’s Teachings – the Rules of Thumb, the lectures, everything. Thank you very much! I will continue to make our business grow and never give up, never, never give up. Thank you so much again, it was a fantastic experience. Truly unbelievable. These three days were perfect."

Amilcar Camargo

"Hello, my name is Amílcar. I am 47 years old. I am married and I have four children. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am an electronics technician and owner of Onix Tecnologia. We develop and manufacture touch-activated and automation boards for light fixtures, faucets, etc. The main thing that differentiates us from other companies is that we make customized projects according to the needs of each client.

Being a part of the Academy and participating in the Start Now Program made an incredible difference in my entrepreneurship journey.I also appreciated being together with other entrepreneurs. Participating in the Awards was challenging, but it greatly strengthened our determination and perseverance. We will use the prize money to expand our company and complete two new projects. We are immensely grateful to founder Stephen W. Gibson and everyone involved with the Academy of Creating Enterprise. We can affirm that the Academy is fulfilling the objective for which it was created. Thank you very much!”

Andrea Moraes de Hora

"Hello, my name is Andrea Moraes da Hora. I am 52 years old. I'm from the São Gonçalo Ward,

Niterói chapter. I am very grateful to the Academy and for everything I learned at the conference! They were busy days, but they were valuable days. I learned how much I can accomplish and how great my potential is. I am grateful to God – first for this opportunity and also to the Academy founders for this brilliant idea! I am also grateful to the judges for their questions and advice. Thank you!"

Gleica Rico

“Participating in the Academy Awards was a big challenge because at first I didn't want to apply. Additionally, I had already prepared my first presentation when I realized it had nothing to do with the requirements. However, my Chapter President helped me. I had to change everything on the day of my presentation, but I adjusted. Because of what I learned at the Academy, I learned to reorganize my store's finances. I could see what I could improve and how I could continue to invest and grow my business. I made the decision to close the physical store, as I want to become an e-commerce and will soon launch my website. I am learning every day. The lectures during the awards were also incredible."

Tamara Emily

"Participating in the Academy Awards was very rewarding. The Academy team did an excellent job of planning. Every detail was well-structured and the whole process was very smooth. Winning an award will help me invest in the best lighting equipment for my photography studio. We have been trying to buy this equipment since the beginning of the pandemic. However, due to the crisis we haven’t been able to. Now, thanks to the Academy we will have this opportunity!"

Fernando Lopes

"I was very grateful to participate in the 2022 Academy Awards. It was a pleasure to compete in the Male Entrepreneur Beginner Category. I'm also grateful to have been one of the finalists. This experience helped me to learn a lot about my business plan and also make some improvements within my own business. The prize money I received will help me formalize my company. Additionally, I learned to improve my digital marketing campaign strategy. Thank you for your support!"
