Meet lorena

Lorena

Lorena is a 48 year-old Academy alumna from Lapu Lapu city, Philippines. She started her bread business in 2017. She is a mother of 3 kids and is serving as a counselor in the Relief Society organization. Her husband used to drive a taxi cab, but due to the pandemic he lost his job. Lorena had always been passionate about cooking and she would produce local rice cakes that she would peddle in her community to augment the family income. As she continued to study her business, she realized there is better growth and yield with selling breads and pastries. Lorena, an officer for her local Academy chapter, currently produces 300 breads a day using a manual mixer and her daily sales would be an average of  900 pesos. Her husband is now the one peddling her products.

Wanted: Mixer

Her equipment request is a heavy duty roller mixer which can increase her production by 100% increasing her production to 600 plus breads a day. With this kind of output, Lorena’s daily income could jump to an average of 1200 pesos a day.  She would also be able to extend her product line to include siopao buns and pizza adding potential sales to her business. A second hand roller mixer costs about 15,000 pesos.
